U.S. Consulates in Germany resume limited Visa Services
Thank you for attending our GABC seminar “Updates on travel restrictions” on July 16, 2020. We had over 57 attendees and we are looking forward to the next one. As discussed, in light of the pandemic, travel restrictions as well as immigration rules can change very quickly. Over the weekend, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Germany have announced that the Consular Team Germany has resumed limited Visa Services. This includes mainly student visas. Services for US citizens and residents of Germany will be prioritized.
In addition, the Consulate announced that a few categories of travelers may apply for a national interest exception (NIEs). If approved, despite the suspension of travel from the Schengen Area to the United States, these individuals may enter the U.S. Such categories include, among others, public health professionals and students, as well as Investors (including E visa holders).
